Fairfield building permits move through BUILD Online
Fairfield BUILD Online is the city path for permit applications, plan uploads, invoices, inspections, and permit tracking.
Fairfield calls its online permit system BUILD. Use it to apply for permits, upload plans, pay invoices, request inspections, and track the job.
The first step is account setup. If you have used the same Civic Access system in another city, use the same email address for Fairfield.
Before starting a permit, gather the project address, owner or applicant contact, contractor details if you have them, and plan files that are ready to upload. Fairfield also has short guides for account setup and permit applications.
If the upload or account gives you trouble, use the BUILD support email. That is better than making a second account and making the project harder to find later.

California Porch explains the path. The official source is still the place to confirm the current rule, fee, form, map, deadline, or office decision.
Use the official page before you spend money, file paperwork, rely on a deadline, or change a property.
