Riverside County uses a zone map and two alert paths
Genasys Protect identifies Riverside County evacuation zones, while Alert RivCo and the Protect app provide separate ways to receive emergency messages.
Riverside County’s Know Your Zone page uses Genasys Protect. Enter an address to find the zone public-safety officials can name in an evacuation or shelter-in-place message. The map helps show where an action applies.
Alert RivCo is a separate notification system for wildfire, flood, hazardous materials, severe weather, and some law-enforcement incidents. Traditional landlines are entered automatically. Cell and VoIP numbers must be registered, and a user can add email. The county also encourages residents to use the Genasys Protect app as another alert path.
Register for both Alert RivCo and Protect, then save the zones for home, work, school, a relative, or a business site. Some cities maintain an additional city system, so check the Alert RivCo page for the place where you live or work.
The map tells you the area. The live alert tells you the action. During an incident, follow the current warning, order, or shelter instruction rather than treating the saved zone as a fixed route.
