Mussel Rock Park is scenic, but check Daly City conditions
Mussel Rock Park is a dramatic Daly City coastal spot. It is not a casual beach park to treat on autopilot. The area includes a capped and closed landfill that is now used as open space and public access.
Coastal Commission materials describe uses such as hiking, beach access, dog walking, fishing, and hang-gliding. They also describe ongoing monitoring, erosion, waves, and slope movement in the area.
Enjoy the view, but confirm conditions and stay out of restricted or unstable areas. Tide, weather, and posted signs matter here.
