Upland building permit applications are online

Upland's Building and Safety Division accepts building permit applications online, while business license work uses a separate online license path.

Uplandbuilding permitsbusiness licenses

Upland building permit applications go online. The Building and Safety Division accepts permit applications through the online path and processes them during regular business hours.

That is separate from a business license. Upland business license applications are also online, but the business path asks for business details such as the activity type and SIC code. A tenant improvement or new storefront may need both records.

For building work, be ready with the address, owner contact, contractor information, project description, plans, and whether the work changes plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structure, roof, or exterior features.

For a business opening, add the business name, owner or entity, activity, start date, and whether signs, equipment, or tenant work are planned. Keeping those two tracks straight helps avoid thinking a license has approved the construction, or a permit has approved the business.
