Sunnyvale emergency info works best with a few channels

Sunnyvale pairs AlertSCC with SunnyvaleDPS updates and 1680 AM radio; training pages and the live county alert page serve different jobs.

SunnyvaleAlertSCCemergency information

Sunnyvale points to three local sources: AlertSCC, the @SunnyvaleDPS account on X, and the city’s 1680 AM emergency radio station.

AlertSCC is the county’s free, opt-in emergency system. It can send texts, calls, emails, and TTY messages. Add the addresses that matter. Alerts can be aimed at the affected area. No app is required. Text alerts can be in English or Spanish. Email can carry more languages, and an alert may link to other translations.

For live county status, use the Current Alerts and Disasters page. Sunnyvale’s prep page is not an incident map or shelter-status board. Its classes, neighborhood planning, and CERT program help people learn ahead of time. They do not replace a safety instruction.

If phone service or internet is weak, tune a portable or car radio to 1680 AM. It carries Sunnyvale information during a disaster. Otherwise, start with the newest AlertSCC instruction. Confirm local details through SunnyvaleDPS. A saved prep page is useful, but the live alert tells you what to do now.
