A state park pass is not the same as every state park fee

California State Parks fees can depend on the park, the vehicle, and whether the site charges by vehicle or by person.

California State Parks fees are not all the same. Most state parks charge day-use fees by vehicle for parking. Some state historic parks or museums charge entry fees by person.

So before you buy a pass or promise a free day, check the current park information. The right answer can change by park, vehicle, historic site, museum, and the kind of visit.
