Simi Valley has local on-demand rides and regional CONNECT service
Simi Valley Transit offers same-day on-demand rides inside local service zones, while CONNECT InterCity serves older adults and ADA-approved riders across eastern Ventura County.
Simi Valley Transit has two ride options that are easy to mix up. Simi Valley Transit On Demand is open to residents and visitors. It is a same-day rideshare service for trips inside the local service zones, with booking through the app, phone, or web. The local on-demand service runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
CONNECT InterCity is a different service. It is a shared-ride regional ADA and Dial-A-Ride option for adults 65 and older and people approved under the ADA. It connects Simi Valley with Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Newbury Park, and Santa Susana Knolls, with reservations by phone.
The useful question is whether the trip is local or regional. A short ride across Simi Valley may fit On Demand. A qualifying ride across eastern Ventura County may belong in the CONNECT lane.
That split helps families, caregivers, students, and visitors ask for the service that matches the trip instead of treating every transit ride like the same bus.
