ReadySBC is the county door for Santa Barbara emergency alerts
ReadySBC separates alert signup, current emergency information, zone and road maps, and hazard planning so residents can use the right source for the moment.
ReadySBC is run by Santa Barbara County’s Office of Emergency Management, but it is really a set of doors rather than one all-purpose page. Alert signup is for messages sent to you. The Emergency page is for a current incident. The map section has emergency zones, road closures, flood risk, tsunami areas, and other planning layers.
Set up ReadySBC alerts and save the zone for the addresses you care about. During a storm, fire, or evacuation, read the current message before opening a planning map. A hazard map can show where a risk exists; it cannot tell you that a road is open or that a shelter is operating right now.
Santa Barbara County’s coast, canyons, burn areas, creeks, and rural roads make exact place names important. If an alert names a zone or road you do not recognize, use the live emergency page and official map to match it. Guests, students, and workers should have the same county alert path, not just the person who owns the home.
