San Diego alerts, zones, and incident updates

AlertSanDiego delivers registered-location alerts, while Genasys Protect and the regional emergency map show evacuation zones and current incident details.

San Diegoemergency alertsAlertSanDiego

San Diego’s emergency tools work together, but they do not do the same job. AlertSanDiego sends calls, texts, and emails tied to an address you enter. It can use listed and unlisted landline numbers without a signup. You must register cell phones, online phone numbers, and email addresses.

Genasys Protect is the map. It shows zones, active evacuations, and road closures. Look up home, work, school, and other regular stops before an emergency. The Alert San Diego app and website also have a regional emergency map. They post official incident updates.

When something is happening, check the map and the newest update. Then follow the steps given for your area. The county’s posts focus on large regional emergencies. A smaller event may appear only through San Diego fire, police, or another local agency. An alert signup helps, but it does not list every nearby incident.
