The Balboa Peninsula Trolley can make Newport Beach easier
Newport Beach runs a free seasonal Balboa Peninsula Trolley that can help with beach gear, parking pressure, and short trips along the Peninsula.
Newport Beach is beautiful, but the Balboa Peninsula can turn into a parking puzzle fast. The free seasonal trolley can make a beach day feel calmer.
For 2026, the trolley runs on weekends and listed summer holidays from late May into early September. Regular service runs from morning into the evening. The route has 22 stops along the Peninsula, with space for bikes, surfboards, and beach gear.
Pair the trolley with the official parking information. Free parking at the Avon Street lot is part of the city guidance, but seasons and details can change. Before you build your plan around it, check the trolley page and parking page for that year’s schedule.
