Montclair TransCenter is the city's bus-and-rail hinge
Montclair TransCenter explains the city's transit role, with Metrolink, regional buses, Greyhound service, and a future A Line extension still unresolved.
Montclair TransCenter is the city’s transportation hinge. It sits on Richton Street. Metrolink stops there on the San Bernardino Line. Riders can also connect with Omnitrans, Foothill Transit, Riverside Transit, and Greyhound.
It is also part of a future rail story. Foothill Gold Line materials place the planned Montclair A Line station near the TransCenter. That final extension has been on hold because of local funding questions.
That means the current and future pieces should not be mixed up. Today, the TransCenter is already useful for bus and rail transfers. The A Line extension is a project to track, not something to promise. Confirm service pages before planning a trip.
For a rider, the TransCenter is useful because several agencies meet there. Schedules, fares, and stop locations may come from different operators. One city page may not answer every trip question.
For a trip, start with the operator you will ride. Use the bus page for bus details, Metrolink for train times, and future rail updates only if the A Line extension is the question.
