Merced riders should know The Bus route map

The Bus gives Merced County a fixed-route and paratransit system, with Merced, Atwater, Los Banos, and intercity route groups listed together.

MercedThe Bustransit

Merced’s transit system is called The Bus, and it reaches beyond a city-only map. The Bus operates 15 fixed routes throughout the region, plus paratransit service for qualifying riders who cannot access fixed-route service.

The route groups make the local shape easier to see. The page separates Merced routes, Atwater routes, Los Banos routes, and intercity routes. In Merced County, school, medical, work, shopping, and family trips can cross city lines quickly.

For someone new to Merced, this is the page to keep close when comparing a car trip with a bus trip. A route inside Merced, a ride to another community, and a paratransit question are not the same search.

Start with the destination, then the route group, then the schedule. If the trip involves an appointment, a transfer, or a ride back later in the day, look at the return trip before you leave.
