Malibu evacuation zones are meant to be checked before a bad day

Malibu's four base zones give alerts a shared location name, while Genasys Protect carries the live status, routes, roadblocks, and shelter details for an incident.

Malibu’s four base evacuation zones are MAL-C111 through MAL-C114. Search an address on the city’s zone page and save the result for home, work, school, or another place you regularly visit. During an incident, officials may split a base zone into smaller groups, such as an A or B section.

The zone is a shared location name, not a standing order to use one road. Genasys Protect carries live zone status and may show incident details such as roadblocks, routes, shelters, and return information. City and LA County alert systems deliver the messages that tell people when action is needed.

The wording matters. An evacuation warning means there may be a threat; people who need extra time and those with pets or livestock should leave then. An evacuation order means there is an immediate threat and the lawful instruction is to leave now.

Learn the zone and two possible ways out before the bad day. When an actual message arrives, follow the route and timing in that message rather than an old screenshot or a favorite everyday road.
