Madera County alerts work better when your phone is already signed up

MCAlert is Madera County’s primary alert and warning system. It can send emergency information through more than one contact channel, including messages about severe weather, road closures, missing people, and evacuations. Register the cell numbers and locations that matter before an incident.

MaderaAware, presented through Genasys Protect, is the address-and-map layer. Use it to find the evacuation zone for home, a cabin, work, school, or another place you visit, then check current zone status and mapped road closures during an incident. MCAlert sends the warning; the map helps place it.

The county covers valley, foothill, lake, and mountain communities where cell service and routes can vary. Keep a battery radio or another official information path in the plan, and do not rely on a social post or one phone. Follow the latest official message and barriers in the field.

If an evacuation order names your zone, leave immediately. If conditions feel unsafe before an order reaches you, do not wait for the phone to ring.
